The fine print that protects our worlds.
Terms of Use for our characters, films and tools — plus how we handle your data and cookies on this site.
Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data MSToons ("MSToons", "we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Our approach is simple: we collect only the information you choose to send us — through the application form on this website or by email — plus the minimal technical data needed to keep the website running and secure. We do not use analytics or advertising tools, we do not track visitors, and we do not sell personal data.
2. What We Collect
Information You Send to Us
If you apply through the "Join the team" form, we collect the information you enter there:
- your full name;
- your email address;
- your Telegram or Discord username;
- your message about your motivation;
- a link to your portfolio, CV, or LinkedIn profile.
If you contact us by email about a commission, partnership, employment, or another business matter, we collect your name and contact details, the content of your message, and any files you attach (such as briefs, portfolios, or CVs).
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request.
Technical Information
Like almost every website, ours relies on hosting and infrastructure providers whose servers automatically record basic technical logs, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, access dates and times, and technical errors. This information is used only to operate the website, maintain security, and diagnose technical problems. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors, and we do not use analytics tools.
Cookies
The website does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. It may use a small number of strictly necessary technical cookies required for it to function. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- review applications and contact candidates about current or future opportunities;
- discuss and manage commissions, partnerships, and other business relationships;
- operate, maintain, and secure the website;
- comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations;
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or similar privacy laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Pre-contractual steps and contractual necessity: responding to your application or business enquiry and preparing or performing an agreement with you;
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the website and keeping ordinary business records, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Consent: for example, where you agree that we keep your application on file for longer than the standard period;
- Legal obligations: where processing is required to comply with applicable laws or lawful requests.
You may withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
5. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell or rent personal data.
We share personal data only where reasonably necessary, with:
- hosting, infrastructure, and form-processing providers that run this website;
- email and communication service providers;
- professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants;
- regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts, or other authorities where disclosure is required by law;
- a buyer, investor, successor, or adviser in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
Service providers may process personal data only to perform services for us and in accordance with their contractual and legal obligations.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary:
- applications submitted through the "Join the team" form — for up to 12 months after submission, unless you ask us to delete them earlier or agree to a longer period;
- business correspondence — for the duration of the relevant relationship and a reasonable period afterwards;
- technical and security logs — for a short rolling period, unless needed to investigate an incident or comply with the law.
When personal data is no longer required, we delete, anonymise, or securely dispose of it.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- object to certain processing activities;
- request restriction of processing;
- request a portable copy of your personal data;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and certain rights may be limited where we are legally required or permitted to retain the relevant information.
8. Children's Privacy
This website is a business website for our studio and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, contact us at [email protected], and we will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete the information where appropriate.
9. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may store or process personal data outside the country where you live. Where required by applicable law, we use recognised safeguards for such transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or another legally approved transfer mechanism.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, and unlawful disclosure. However, no website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The website does not embed third-party content that collects data about you (such as third-party video players, social media widgets, or tracking pixels).
It may contain links to external platforms — for example, our YouTube channel or social media pages. If you follow such a link, or if we communicate with you through Telegram, Discord, LinkedIn, or a portfolio platform you have shared with us, the relevant provider processes your data under its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, business practices, legal obligations, or service providers. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the latest version became effective.

Please do not send us unsolicited creative ideas, scripts, characters, or project pitches. If you send them anyway, you do so voluntarily: we have no obligation of confidentiality or compensation with respect to such materials, and any similarity between them and our current or future projects does not give rise to any claim against MSToons.

Those services are governed by their own terms, policies, and privacy practices. MSToons does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, policies, or practices.
10. No Warranties
The website and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MSToons makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not guarantee that:
- the website will always be available or uninterrupted;

- defects or errors will be corrected.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MSToons will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. This includes, without limitation, any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, data, goodwill, or reputation.
This limitation applies to damages arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the website or MSToons content. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update or modify these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the latest version became effective. Your continued use of the website after changes are published means that you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
